Drawing Algorithms
← Go back

An algorithm, drawn by a 23-year-old female physiologist in a hospital in the UK.

So on the other side I would ask you to draw me how these algorithms work. Oh God. Oh, don't even know how. I'd just write like coding stuff, but I didn't even know what... Oh, if you're not sure, you can also think of how it could work in that sense. Yeah. Trying to think... Yeah. It's just something I've never ever thought about before. That's why I'm here asking you these questions. Yeah, I know. [both laugh] It's like, Oh my God. Can it be a picture? Yeah? Yeah, it can. Yeah, yeah. Okay. An image. That's all right. Computer. Whatever comes to your mind. You can use words, everything. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. [laugsh] I don't know. Have a little mouse. Yeah. I don't know how else to think about- So can you explain the drawing? Like people doing computer stuff on the Internet, doing their little, making websites and stuff like that. But I suppose the Internet's even just bigger than this, but that's, I suppose, the main thing I would associate with it, but more behind the scenes stuff, I suppose, is more the algorithm stuff. Big servers. I don't know.[laughs] Okay. Yeah. And where did you hear about algorithms? Like what are you...? Just like, I think of math when you say algorithms, which I suppose like really it's the basics of the Internet, just mathematics. So, yeah. I don't know. Hear it in TV shows, movies, sort of. Did you hear about it lately? I don't think so. No. I haven't really been keeping up with anything since I've moved over here. Okay. Yeah, it's just been whatever's on social media, but yeah. Okay, cool. Great. That's it. Thank you so much. Okay, cool.
