Drawing Algorithms

An algorithm, drawn by a 33-year-old female software supporter in Switzerland.

Okay, and the second task would be to draw me how an algorithm works. So you are welcome to say what you are drawing while you are drawing. Okay, um... [longer silence] This is super difficult for me because I don't know what kind of symbolism to use for it. I therefore do it the way I ideally imagine it should work. Somehow, I do it very, very simply, an X, something happens, a lot of little processes that are written react to it, so to speak, the algorithm does. And then, for example, a big X with lots of little x's... The algorithm has changed the X into an X-Deluxe. Unfortunately I can't think of anything else. This is perfectly okay. Why are the small x still around the X-deluxe? So that it looks special and the algorithm has done more than just enlarging it, but maybe it has changed it again into a nicer, bigger, livlier X. What did you just mean by the written one underneath here? It's the algorithm, I just don't know how to make an algorithm... Okay 1 and 0 and 1 and 0, no idea This is the algorithm that describes the process you have drawn with the arrow here Exactly Where does your knowledge of algorithms come from? uff, that's a good question. Let's just say the general Internet. Okay Yes, let's say the Internet So you checked it out yourself or did you stumble upon it? I've stumbled across it before, let's put it this way. I've read about how they work and I wanted to know more about them but... Why would you want to know more? Because my partner... Okay [laughs] So you have articles, so it's more like you've been in the media, so you've read newspaper articles about it? Can I imagine how you got the information? Yes And maybe some conversation? Exactly, I'd say so. Conversations, by third parties, let's say so, and by articles about them. Okay, cool.
