Drawing Algorithms
← Go back

An algorithm, drawn by a 32-year-old geophysicist who identifies does not identify as male or female in Switzerland.

And I would ask you to draw how an algorithm works. This time I'm going to leave the recorder on so you can narrate what you're doing. And again, we're not looking for an artistic master piece, just draw what comes to mind. [silence] Do I have to explain what I'm doing? You can do it right now or you can do it afterwards. Okay. I would just, I guess you have something, some point where you want to make a, an automated process. So you start here and do some operations [drawing noise] and some tests. Like , if something falls, yes, no, if yes, do something else. If no, for instance, I don't know, something like this. Some circular process. Some circle. Okay. And how have you learnt about algorithms or heard about them? I don't know. I guess school or wherever you want to solve a problem, you have to follow some steps of logical thinking. And so that's why I guess that counts as an algorithm as well. Okay. Thank you very much.
