Drawing Algorithms
← Go back

An algorithm, drawn by a 43-year-old female with a law degree taking programming courses in the US.

I have one other drawing to ask you which is, if you could draw how an algorithm works. And I'll leave this on if you wanna narrate your drawing. Okay. I don't know how to draw how an algorithm works. So, you're writing? [laughs] I guess my idea of algrithm is just a list of instructions. Okay. And then, where have you heard about the term before? Like in college, there is a class "algorithms". And you took one? No, I never took it and then. I also remember other people talking about it cause I think somebody else was taking it and I knew it had something to do with computers but I didn't know what. And then, and then. I heard about like "Oh, the algorithm for doing subtraction", you know like. First you do this, then you do that or whatever and then. In like in the context of a discussion of like "Oh, do we just teach kids the algorithm for multiplication and subtraction or do we really make them understand it? Cause anybody can just follow the algorithm". And then I also have come across it watching some computer programming video of like algorithm, algorithm for like telling the computer what to do. Okay, great.
